July 25th Update: God of War Laufey release date confirmed for 16th February 2027.
The third installment in the Norse saga, follows Faye’s adventures in the afterlife. Taking place at the same time as GoW 2018 and GoW Ragnarok, the game shifts perspective, allowing us to witness what happens after giants die. God of War Laufey release date has not yet been confirmed, but it looks like it might arrive sooner than you’d think.
God of War Laufey Release Date – When Is GoW Laufey Coming Out?
With GTA 6 just around the corner, we can safely say that a 2026 release is out of the question. However, reliable sources indicate that it might come out in 2027.
GoW Laufey Release Date Speculations
The game announcement came in June 2026. The only official piece of information we have so far is that the game is “coming soon”. Jason Schreier, investigative video game journalist and author, widely regarded as one of the most influential reporters, has publicly commented on GoW Laufey’s release date in a Bluesky post. Responding to a comment, Schreier later clarified that a 2028 Laufey release date is “definitely not” the plan.
Schreier believes that Sony is likely targeting a 2027 release. With Fable confirmed for 27th February 2027, GoW might not come out until mid-2027.
GoW Laufey Price and Platform Availability
Based on current PlayStation first-party pricing, the expected launch price for the Standard Edition is likely to be around $69.99 / €69.99.
The only officially confirmed platform is PlayStation 5. After Sony’s controversial decision to go all digital, Santa Monica studio announced that Laufey will be available in physical format. This narrows down the God of War Laufey release date window, adding another argument in favor of a 2027 launch.
Since Sony has been bringing many first-party games to PC, a Gow Laufey PC version is possible in the future.
