The Moonlight Peaks Happy Mandrake is one of the two crop variants obtained from a Mandrake Seed. The seed placement determines which variant you’ll get. Angry Mandrakes result when seeds are crammed together. If you leave some space between the seeds, a Happy Mandrake will grow. Happy and Angry Mandrakes have different uses. You will need both variants for quests and cooking recipes.
How to Grow Happy Mandrakes in Moonlight Peaks
Both Happy and Angry Mandrakes grow from the same seed type. Luna’s Seed Stand sells Mandrake Seeds for 200 coins. You will need a shovel and the Aquaflux spell to water the plant. Mandrakes only grow in Autumn, and they take six days to grow. The seed positioning influences the resulting plant.
If you want to obtain Happy Mandrakes, leave two empty spaces (two empty squares) between the seeds in any direction.
If you place the seeds next to each other, the plants won’t appreciate the congestion and turn into Angry Mandrakes.
You can plant other crops between the Mandrake seeds; just don’t place two Mandrake seeds next to each other. You can differentiate the variants by color. Happy plants are purple, while angry plants are red.
How to Use Happy Mandrakes
The Moonlight Peaks Happy Mandrake plant has three uses:
- For a quest. Put one Happy Mandrake aside because you will need it for the Moonlight Peaks Museum opening.
- To make Mana Mandrake Soup. This is the only cooking recipe that uses Happy Mandrakes.
- To get Mana Essence. Happy Mandrakes give 180% Mana.
You cannot use Angry Mandrakes instead of Moonlight Peaks Happy Mandrakes or the other way around. Angry Mandrakes are used for the following cooking recipes:
- Angry Burrito.
- Angry Soup.
- Angry Pizza.
- Angry Maki.
The Rapid Reel potion, which makes fish bite much faster, requires an Angry Mandrake as well. The Angry Mandrake provides 60% Mana when making Mana Essence. There are no quests that require an Angry Mandrake.
